‘Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Actions’ is Guy Kawasaki’s tenth book. I first encountered Guy when he was the ‘Chief Evangelist’ at Apple. I was impressed by Steve Jobs’ paradigm “Inventing the Future” and Guy did an awesome job, persuading people to believe in Apple’s products. One of Guy’s early books, ‘Selling the Dream’ is still a personal favourite.
Have you ever wanted to change the world or at least “influence what people will do while maintaining the highest standards of ethics?”
Guy’s salient subjects are:
- why enchantment is necessary
- the pillars of enchantment (likability, trustworthiness, and a great cause)
- launching
- overcoming resistance
- making enchantment endure
- using technology
- enchanting your employees
- enchanting your boss
- resisting enchantment.
It’s an excellent book for network marketing professionals.

My favourite expert commentary is:
“You feel it when you drive a BMW, touch an Apple iPad, walk into a Sephora store, or buy shoes from Zappos. Kawasaki reveals how you can deliver the same enchanting experiences as these famous brands.”

Update: I’m no longer involved with network marketing.
